Child care programs have the unique opportunity to support families, children, and staff by achieving Colorado’s Lactation Friendly Child Care Recognition.
The Lactation Friendly Child Care Recognition guides child care programs through the process to assess and improve policies and practices that contribute to creating a breastfeeding friendly environment and culture.
The recognition includes a program self-assessment, goal setting, professional development, enhancements to the environment, and writing or revising program policies and procedures.

Baby Group with abbie @ café au Play
Hosted by Abbie Downing, who is a certified lactation consultant and birth doula offering the group once a week. These free groups allow connection and support with postpartum caregivers.
In addition, Abbie hosts informal talks with families about postpartum life, feeding, and sleeping tips.
Occurs weekly on Thursdays from
10am-1pm
No charge but donations welcome.

Breastfeeding Support Group

Free group for any breastfeeding moms that need support in our community.
Held every other Monday afternoon at Southwest Midwives.

Breastfeeding Consulting & Workshops
Dr. Joy offers home visits for mothers with challenges in breastfeeding their newborns and office visits for moms and babies of any age needing assistance with breastfeeding. Also offers breastfeeding workshops several times throughout the year. These workshops are available to mothers and fathers-to-be.
