Our Curriculum directly reflects our mission statement: supporting all of our children through a unique educational journey. We support whole-child development through learning experiences with a combination of teacher-directed and child-initiated learning, creating opportunities for further growth and learning. We observe each child’s unique interests and developmental needs in order to provide individualized support in order to develop daily activities around the themes that the children are interested in while weaving in social-emotional, language, gross motor, and early mathematical and literacy learning.

Creative Class

Art

Children have the opportunity to explore their creativity through a diverse range of art materials, allowing them to engage in fulfilling activities that foster essential life skills. As they embark on the journey of creating their own unique artworks, they can delve into both their visual and tactile senses, discovering the joys of self-expression. This process not only enables them to appreciate the art of creation but also teaches them effective strategies for navigating the often chaotic world of art-making. The remarkable pieces they produce are proudly displayed in classrooms and throughout the center, and they are also shared with parents, creating a meaningful connection between home and school.

Outdoor Play

Our stunning backyard playground presents endless possibilities for children to immerse themselves in invigorating outdoor play. Whenever the weather permits, we ensure at least one hour each day is dedicated to outdoor activities. This type of play is crucial for the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional growth of young children. The benefits are remarkable, including enhanced motor skills, improved focus, decreased stress levels, and increased creativity. Activities can range from running and climbing to enriching experiences like scavenger hunts and sensory exploration in nature. Encouraging outdoor play goes beyond mere enjoyment; it fosters essential life skills and cultivates a deep-seated appreciation for the wonderful natural world around us.

Sand and Water Play

Engaging in sand and water play presents numerous developmental benefits for children. Activities such as digging, scooping, and pouring not only enhance fine motor skills but also ignite their creativity and imagination. Through playful experimentation with volume and different materials, foundational concepts in math and science are introduced in an enjoyable way. Moreover, sand and water play provides calming sensory experiences, promoting focus, self-regulation, and emotional expression. These activities also allow children to articulate their thoughts and feelings, significantly contributing to their language and speech development.

Cars and Blocks

Car and block play is an invaluable educational resource that ignites critical thinking, spatial reasoning, and creativity in children. This fundamental component of early childhood education fosters a wide range of essential skills, including spatial awareness, fine motor development, problem-solving capabilities, mathematical understanding, scientific reasoning, and social-emotional growth. As children construct structures and arrange objects, they develop a deeper understanding of balance, gravity, shapes, and sizes. Moreover, their engagement in imaginative storytelling and collaborative play significantly enhances their communication abilities and teamwork skills. Embracing car and block play not only enriches the learning experience but also lays a strong foundation for a child’s future success.

Reading

Fostering literacy is essential for the development of young learners. It plays a crucial role in nurturing language, cognitive abilities, and social-emotional skills. By emphasizing phonemic awareness and vocabulary, we can enrich children's lives through dynamic reading practices.

Implementing proven strategies such as daily reading sessions, rich discussions about stories, and engaging in playful sound and rhyming games creates a vibrant and language-rich environment. Selecting age-appropriate books ensures that every child is captivated and inspired. The key is to create a joyful experience around reading, transforming it into a delightful and informal part of their daily lives rather than a rigid, structured task.

Our primary aim is to lay a robust foundation for literacy from infancy by encouraging enjoyable and engaging interactions. This approach not only bolsters a child's readiness to read but also instills a lifelong love for learning.

Music

Music plays a vital role in early childhood education, enriching cognitive and language skills by forging essential connections in the brain that facilitate learning and sound processing. Through engaging activities such as dancing and playing instruments, music supports physical development, enhancing motor skills and coordination. Moreover, it nurtures vital social-emotional growth by offering children a powerful outlet for self-expression, building their confidence, encouraging teamwork, and fostering a deep sense of cultural connection and understanding.
